This featured NatuReef® aquarium is a 380 gallon reef tank. The tank was originally set up in 1998.  The tank belongs to Larry and Debbie Frank of Boynton Beach.

System information is as follows:

Lighting - 3- 400 watt 10k metal halide bulbs, several 2' VHO florescent tubes.

Skimmer - Downdraft type heavy duty skimmer.

Wet Dry Filter - Custom made NatuReef brand sump and denitrifier.

Water Replacement System - NatuReef®’s automated freshwater make up system. This system consists of an electrical water level switch connected to an RO filter with a solenoid valve. This system maintains the water level in the sump automatically.

Trace Feeder - NatuReef® model TF-3. This trace feeder allows you to feed three different solutions at different rates.  Larry feeds Iodine Plus, Iron Plus and NatuVite into the tank.

Calcium Additions - In addition to a Calcium reactor Larry uses hardness Plus and Alkalinity Plus two part solutions.  Calcium concentration is maintained above 400 ppm.

Water Parameters
Salinity = 1.023
Calcium = 400ppm
Alkalinity = 2.5 milliequivalents
NO3-- = 0ppm
PO4 = 0ppm
pH = ranges from 8.1 to 8.4

No Strontium is added because NatuReef®‘s Phosphagone contains Strontium and is added with each denitrification cycle.
