Trace Feeders - GENERAL INFO
When trace element or other solutions are added manually there is always either a short term abundance ( even overdose) and then a deficiency. Quite often the routine addition of these essential supplements are completely forgotten. When the NatuReef dosing /trace feeding systems are used the addition of these supplements is completely automatic and not subject to the hit and miss manual method. This greatly improves the well being of all the tank inhabitants. Trace Elements, both metals and non-metals, are essential for the metabolic processes of algae, invertebrates and vertebrates. Organisms that derive nearly all their energy via photosynthesis are especially dependent upon dissolved trace substances.
The manual addition of trace materials is usually a sporadic hit or miss method. It provides a short term overabundance and then none for a period of days or even weeks. The automatic addition of trace elements via the NatuReef TRACE FEEDERS eliminates the peaks and valleys associated with manual additions. A steady input of the required substances is possible. Also, for the experimenter, the feeders allow different traces to be fed at different rates. Up to three separate solutions may be individually administered at any desired rate.
NatuReef TRACE FEEDERS are available as two different models. Each model may be acquired as a stand-alone unit or as an add-on to the CD series denitrification reactors. The stand alone units have dedicated digital timers to allow complete freedom of dispensing rates and frequency. The add-ons to the denitrification systems can dispense at their own rate, but must do so at the frequency of the denitrification cycles.
All three models may be acquired as add-ons to the CD series NatuReef denitrifiers. The suffix "A" added to the model number indicates that it requires the digital timer from a CD series denitrifier. The add-on TRACE FEEDERS are provided with a six foot interconnect cable between feeder and the controller of the denitrifier.

TF-2 TRACE FEEDER Dual Channel Trace Feeder This model allows for a more precise administration of trace solutions. Two different solutions may be dispensed simultaneously but at different rates. The ratio between the rates is 3:1. This model comes with 5 feet of free microbore tubing and is supplied with a 16 oz. bottle of NatuReef Iodine Plus and a 16 oz. bottle of NatuReef Iron Plus. |

TF-3 TRACE FEEDER Triple Channel Trace Feeder The TF-3 model is the ultimate in specific trace dispensing. It has three separate dispensing channels. Each channel rate is individually controllable which provides a great degree of freedom for the aquarist to experiment with specific additives (trace or vitamins.) The ideal mix for any environment may be achieved by using the TF-3 Trace Feeder. As with the TF-2 model the unit is supplied with a 16 oz. bottle of NatuReef Iodine Plus, a 16 oz. bottle of NatuReef Iron Plus and a 4 oz. Bottle of NatuVite vitamin complex. |

SF-2 Solution Feeder Dispense any two solutions The NatuReef Solution Feeder solution model SF-2 may be used to dispense two solutions simultaneously and precisely. The unit operates from a 115 VAC source and can be connected to a pH controller. The unit has a pilot lamp and on-off switch. To use the SF-2 to dispense the NatuReef Alkalinity Plus and Hardness Plus Solutions, it may be operated manually or from a pH controller that has a 115 VAC output. When the pH falls below the desired threshold, the feeder will dispense an equal amount of alkalinity and hardness to the tank. During manual operation the unit will dispense 216 ml of solution per bottle over a 24 period. The unit may be periodically shut down or only operated during night time hours to conserve solution. If the unit is operated on a pH controller it will dispense until the desired pH is reached. |
